Check financial aid deadlines
Orientation — Late August
Bursar's E-Bill — Early September
Health Ins Waivers — Mid-September
At the IU School of Medicine, the Office of Student Records serves various functions beyond recording grades and credits.
We coordinate the Health Insurance program, we will help you to work out schedule concerns, and during your fourth year, we will be involved in preparing your residency applications (to name a few).
You will find valuable curriculum-related tools, such as the electives book and clerkship preferencing forms, on this website. We are available for walk-ins, appointments, and email.
Entering the System
Once you have been accepted and have confirmed your intention to matriculate, your admission information will flow into the IU student records system. When this step is complete, you may establish your IUPUI email account. Medical Student Affairs will then add your name to the class listserv for your incoming class.
Establishing your IU Email Account
See Checklist of Activities Leading Up to Matriculation — item 4.
Registration and Fee Payment
For a breakdown of fees by center, an explanation of how financial aid is applied, and payment options, see the Registration/Fee Payment Newsletter. If you are experiencing difficulties in paying fees on time, contact Dennis Deal at (317) 274-1970 (ddeal@iupiu.edu) or Marti Reeser at (317) 278-8628 (dreeser@iupui.edu).
The IUPUI Office of the Bursar does not mail a paper bill. For details on the electronic distribution, please visit their website at http://bursar.iupui.edu and click on ‘E-Bill Details.”
Health insurance is required for all medical students and is included as part of your medical school fees. Our health insurance provider is Chickering Group. If you are covered by the health insurance policy of your parent or spouse, you can choose to waive the Chickering insurance and receive reimbursement for that part of your fees. To learn more about our health insurance program, read the details online.
