Migrating Webmail Content to Exchange (Optional)
For background information about the moving from Webmail to Exchange, please see Email FAQ.
Important points to note—
- Once you create an Exchange account, you must be sure to check it. Email sent from one Exchange account to another within the IU system will not be forwarded elsewhere, no matter how your forwarding options are set. Your class listserv email, for example, will remain on Exchange.
- You can switch to Exchange without going to the trouble of migrating your old Webmail content. You will still be able to logon to Webmail and access your folders.
- Exchange email has some distinct advantages.
Your first step in migrating to Exchange is to create an Exchange email account. If you have difficulty with this step, contact Myrna Gray (mgray@iupui.edu 317-274-7163).
After you complete the online account creation form, it may take several minutes (up to 30) for the account to actually be generated. You can check on whether it exists by attempting to login at http://www.exchange.iu.edu
