Does Windows Media player work on the Mac? If not, what can I do?

You will probably need to install additional software to emulate Windows on your Mac. Parallels allows you to run both Mac and Windows operating systems simultaneously. It may be available at the IUPUI bookstore. If not, you can purchase and download it from http://www.parallels.com/. VMWare Fusion serves the same purpose and is gaining market share.

Windows Media Player is the program that students use to watch lectures, videos, and other media recordings posted as part of the curriculum. It is essential for the first two years of medical school. Having a Mac isn't a problem, but you may want to download Parallels before you get to school. If you need help with the installation, contact the UITS Support center at 317-274-HELP.

For a more detailed explanation of emulating Windows, see the IU Knowledge Base article at http://kb.iu.edu/data/ahjj.html.
